The Culturbo Dual-Head Espresso Distributor & Tamper combines an adjustable distributor and a spring-loaded tamper in one tool. Use the distributor side to level the surface of the coffee bed, then flip the tool for the final tamping step.

The spring mechanism is designed around a 30lb resistance point to give the user a clearer stopping point. It can make the workflow easier to repeat, but it does not replace correct grinding, dosing, internal distribution, basket fit, or brewing adjustments.

• Adjustable distributor side: The depth can be set to match the dose and basket routine.
• Spring-loaded tamper side: Provides mechanical resistance during the tamping motion.
• Leveling plate: Helps support a straighter pressing motion when it rests evenly on a compatible basket rim.

Choose the Right Size

Choose by the actual usable inner diameter of the filter basket, not by machine brand alone. The current product specifications list approximately 51.35mm and 58.35mm contact diameters. These precision sizes do not fit every basket described as 51mm or 58mm. Measure the basket and check manufacturer specifications before ordering.

How to Use

1. Dose coffee into the basket and use WDT first if the grounds are clumpy or uneven internally.
2. Adjust the distributor depth so it levels the surface without heavily compressing the coffee.
3. Rotate the distributor side gently one or two times.
4. Flip the tool and rest the leveling plate evenly on the basket rim.
5. Press downward with a steady motion until the spring reaches its resistance point.
6. Release, lift the tool straight up, and continue with extraction.

Care Instructions

Wipe the stainless steel surfaces after use. Do not soak the walnut cap or the complete spring mechanism, and do not place the tool in a dishwasher. Keep threaded and moving sections free of coffee grounds.

Does this tool prevent channeling?

No. It can support surface leveling and a more repeatable tamping motion, but channeling also depends on grind size, dose, internal distribution, basket, coffee, and machine settings.

Does it apply exactly the same force every time?

The spring mechanism is designed to provide a defined resistance point. Actual technique and setup can still affect the tamping action and final puck.

Will the 58mm version fit every 58mm basket?

No. The listed contact diameter is approximately 58.35mm, so it requires a compatible 58mm-class basket with sufficient usable inner diameter.
